Bike Path in Rail Cut.
Good news if you are a fan of cleaner air and a more bike friendly and accessible North Roncesvalles. insideToronto.com reports on the most recent meeting concerning the West Toronto Railpath. The Railpath will run along no longer used railway beds and will not interfere with the existing trains.
One of the objectives is to create a path that is safe for both day and night use, that is completely barrier-free for joggers, dog walkers, inline skaters and cyclists and can be used by all ages and skill groups” said Rich McAvan of landscape architects Harrington and Hoyle Ltd.
When completed, the proposed pathway will run diagonally from just North of Dupont (Cariboo Avenue) south across Bloor, Dundas, Lansdowne, Brock, Queen and King to a point close to Strachan Avenue near the western end of Wellington Street bicycle path network. Construction is tentatively scheduled for next year. Check out Railpath.ca for more info or to see a map.
